Walk. Starts at 10 am
When we did this walk in March it was a cold wet day and we were asked to repeat it when we could expect better weather. We have altered the walk slightly and will do it the opposite way around. This is a very scenic but quite strenuous walk of about 7 miles. the walk is mainly on undulating tracts and fields. there are some climbs but nothing too steep. There are several styles,a ford and stepping stones over a stream. Walking boots and polles are strongly recommended. On this walk there are some challenging places and it is up to each individual to take responsibility for their own safety.
Directions. Leave Parbold at 9am and go North on the M6 leaving at junction 31A following the signs for Longridge and then Chipping. Turn right to Chipping and keep on this road which becomes very narrow in Chipping. Bear left at the Sun Inn, pass the church and the Corner Cafe and take the next right into the car park. There is a £2.10 fee. There are excellent toilets.
Although we plan our walking programme well in advance it may be that it has to be changed at short notice due to adverse weather conditions or unsuitable terrain. Members are informed of any changes at the meeting prior to the scheduled walk.
All walks meet at Parbold shops at 9.00a.m. for Car Share, unless otherwise stated. If you need a lift, it is advisable to contact Jimmy Kelly 01257 463057 or the walk leader before the day, so that we can ensure availability.
This is the responsibility of the individual and lifts cannot be guaranteed if contact is not made prior to the walk day.
