PARBOLD RAMBLING CLUB WALK DETAILS
FOR SUNDAY 1ST MARCH 2020 THE LUNE VALLEY CATON MOOR &CLAUGHTON MEET PARBOLD SHOPS 09.00
OR BULL BECK CAR PARK 10.00
INTRODUCTION
This is a 61/2 Mile walk the first part of the walk is a steady climb up to Claughton Moor with its rewarding views We will take things steady with rest stops whenever necessary. We want the day to be enjoyable for all.
TERRAIN
The majority of this walk is on country tarmac lanes, shale type paths and approximately 2miles of meadow land. Note on the day we did the Recce we descended to Claughton with the intention of returning along the River Lune riverside path to the Bull Beck. However looking down to the river from the moor it was plain to see that the riverside path was not an option so we returned along the road and the old railway line. Hopefully on the day of the walk it will be ok. We suggest good stout boots and don’t forget your walking stick, mainly for the downhill bits as the shale paths can be slippery.
