We're excited to be welcoming a pianist you may have heard before back to Parbold very soon! Pavel Kolesnikov gave an amazing recital here of music by Chopin - a composer he has an enormous affinity with - in Spring 2023 and he's returning to perform some more music by Chopin, as well as piano music by Rameau and Duphly. Pavel became a sensation at the Honens International Piano Competition in 2012 when he took home the world’s largest piano prize. The London-based pianist, who was born in Siberia into a family of scientists, is a captivating pianist with a worldwide following, and is known for his deeply thoughtful performances. You may enjoy this clip of his encore at the 2021 Proms. It's a different Chopin Prelude to the ones he will play in Parbold - this is the famous 'Raindrop' Prelude, Op.28 No.15. https://youtu.be/7AX00mfjgHs In Parbold he will play one or two of Chopin's Preludes and his Piano Sonata No.3 and Nocturne Op.9 No.2.
