Sunday 1st November - NT Live The Misanthrope by Moliere Cert 15 86 min.
Sandra Oh and Paul Chahidi star in a sharp new take on Moliere’s classic comedy. In Moliere’s time Louis XIV enjoyed total domination; the aristocracy was imprisoned in the luxurious, gilded cage of Versailles Palace. Meanwhile the rest of the country lived at subsistence level. France was ripe for change but that was a century away. Misanthropy - a hatred of the whole human race - has a long history back to Greek philosophy and drama. It is not really a philosophy but a character attitude. Booking answerphone: 01257 463878. Tickets for NT Live & Opera: £12.00. All seats unreserved
