Teggs Nose to White Nancy (& Back)
Sunday 15th October
The Walk
The walk is 7.5 miles over undulating paths with a short steep climb up to White Nancy. From the start we descend down a steep track to the valley bottom & care to be taken at this stage. From here the paths are good but muddy in parts.
The Start.
We start the walk from the car park at Teggs Nose country park. Drive in & at the top turn left to the car park behind the coffee shop. Parking fee is £2.50.
Directions.
Take M6 south to J 19 Leave the motorway to the roundabout & take the third exit SP A556 Northwich. In about three quarters of a mile at traffic lights turn left SP Knutsford (Macclesfield A5033) In Knutsford turn right at roundabout & follow A537 to Macclesfield. Follow this road sp A537 (Buxton A53) around Macclesfield turning left at traffic lights by furniture store Arighi Bianchi. Still on the A537 go up the hill & at the top bear right SP Teggs Nose Country Park. Follow this narrow road to turn right into the park entrance.
Toilets.
There are public toilets at the car park but non on the walk itself.
Safety.
Most of the paths & tracks are in good condition but there are one or two places where it is muddy so care must be taken at these locations. Make sure you have warm & waterproof clothing with you it is October. Suitable footwear is essential & a walking stick would be useful particularly down the descent at the start
Meet at Parbold shops at 9.00am with a view to start the walk at 10.30am. (this gives a little extra time if the motorway is busy)

Although we plan our walking programme well in advance it may be that it has to be changed at short notice due to adverse weather conditions or unsuitable terrain. Members are informed of any changes at the meeting prior to the scheduled walk.
All walks meet at Parbold shops at 9.00a.m. for Car Share, unless otherwise stated. If you need a lift, it is advisable to contact Jimmy Kelly 01257 463057 or the walk leader before the day, so that we can ensure availability.
This is the responsibility of the individual and lifts cannot be guaranteed if contact is not made prior to the walk day.
