PARKING. Beacon Fell Country Park (PR3 2NL) Car Park charge £1. There are toilets facilities.
WALK. The walk will start at 10 a.m. and is 6.5 miles. It is mainly on good tracks although it can get muddy in places so walking boots and walking poles are recommended. There are quite a few stiles generally in good order. However due to the undulating terrain and several tricky stretches we deem this to be a category B walk. As usual it is up to each individual to take responsibility for his or her own safety on the walk.
DIRECTIONS. Leave Parbold at 9 a.m. and go North on the M6. Leave at junction 32 onto the M55 and immediately leave at junction 1 following the signs to Garstang. At the Broughton Roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto James Towers Way/A6 (the new Broughton byepass). Leave James Towers Way following signs to Longridge. Pass beneath Motorway then turn left into Langley Lane and eventually left into Silk Mill Lane, continue onto Button Street, right onto Bleasdale Road, right onto Oakenclough Road, right onto North Nook Lane, continue on Beacon Fell Road and left into Rigg Road into Beacon Fell Country Park and park in the left hand car park
Normally all walks meet at Parbold shops at 9.00a.m. for Car Share, unless otherwise stated. If you need a lift, it is advisable to contact Jimmy Kelly 01257 463057 or the walk leader before the day, so that we can ensure availability.
