Parbold and District Ramblers - walk

Parbold & District Ramblers

SUNDAY FEBRUARY 2nd 2020

Local walk via Cedar Farm and Harrock Hill.

This is a 5 mile local walk which could be quite muddy in places and therefore good boots and sticks would be advisable. You will need to be careful on the muddy bits and help each other. Despite this, there are lovely views both towards Winter Hill, and also the Fylde coast.

Meeting place.

Park at the far end of the car park at the Farmers Arms in Bispham/Hilldale. Postcode L40 3SL (John and Anne…That is the one on Lancaster Lane from Parbold). Meet here at 9.45am ready for a 10am start. Alternatively meet at Parbold shops at 9.30am. Please see Jimmy if you need a lift. (01257 464163)

The Walk

This is a fairly easy walk although very muddy in parts. We will stop for coffee at Cedar Farm and plan a half hour stop here so you can buy coffee if you wish, visit the toilet and look at the shops or animals. Alternatively, you can also have your own coffee here if you wish. There are two short road walks. Please take care especially at the bend near the Rigbye Arms. Single file please. You are responsible for your own safety.

There are a couple of ‘inclines’ and only one short steep hill. (Harrock Hill). There are several stiles some of which are not terribly stable.

Food

We will stop for lunch, however if you wish to eat at the Farmers arms afterwards we hope to be back at the car park about 2.30 pm at the latest. They have very kindly reserved the Snug for us so we can sit together for those who wish to have a drink afterwards.

Toilets

Cedar Farm and Farmers Arms at end of walk. Plenty of natural Foliage.
