Just after the pedestrian traffic light crossing Turn left onto Carr Mill Rd take care on this road as it is quite narrow in places with speed humps also vehicles on road side parking approx. 0.5 miles. Your destination on the left.

Parking -1 have spoken to the Landlady at the mason Arms and she kindly said we can use the car park, it is a small car park, so please park as near to each other as possible and were possible car share.

The Walk - This is the time of year for doing our local walks. This is a Jacks Tracks walk of 5.5 miles, Quite a pleasant ramble as Jack described it, through numerous lanes and paths connecting Billinge, Carr Mill and Garswood. The Dam is Merseyside’s largest body of inland water.

Terrain - We have some field paths that owing to recent weather could be quite boggy, some good paths through the wooded area to the Dam then we have tarmac road to far side of the Dam. Then back on field paths when we did the reccie. we should go under the Railway but it was flooded. So we found a route through the woods very pleasant but could be a little slippy in places. After we are back on tarmac and footpaths along Garwood Road. Recommendation - Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, I would also suggest a walking stick.

Toilets - Again the Landlady very kindly said she would be in cleaning pub at 10 am and can access the toilets.
